Abstract

Tradition that is widely celebrated among Latin cultures, La Quinceañera translates to 15 years and is the celebration of girls turning 15. Typically, only girls celebrate la Quinceañera because they are believed to mature at 15, where boys are thought to become men at the age of 18.

A time where family and friends come together to eat, drink, dance, be merry and share their common beliefs, participating in a long passed down tradition. It is compared to the likes of weddings with several traditions like the beautiful dress, the entrance, first dance, Quinceañera court and cake cutting (Verdín, A., & Camacho, J., 2019)
